In case anyone here had plunked down money for that $ 150,- laptop from Swedish "We're no crooks!" Medison, have a look at their website:

For those of us who had never heard this particular story before, can you provide a little more detail?

A similar search on Slashdot will yield more marvels.

Apparently, it shouldn't be that bad for the suc^H^H^Hcustomers who had already sent in their shekels: The money should have been withheld by the online payment service (2checkout.com) until shipping had actually been achieved (do note all the "should"s however).

In hindsight, Medison has probably gobbled up substantial amounts of money from advertizers on their site (which isn't anymore). I'd say those advertizers should best go looking for their cash on Mauritius or the Cayman Islands.

All the above of course provided the dropout of Medison's website is not some stupid administrative glitch, but I'm not holding my breath for it to come back anytime soon...
