Well you said no question was too simple...!

I've bought a Nokia 770 and have no previous experience with internet tablets or PDAs. I'm having problems downlading music files from my PC to the tablet. I tried dragging and dropping to the directory but it didn't work. Do I need specific software to do this?

Thanks very much.

When you connect your Nokia 770 to the PC with the provided USB Connection the Tablet should indicate that it's switched to USB Mode and therefore you should be able to find the devices MMC Card as a removable drive option on the PC. (I think you already managed to do this?)

As long as there is free space on the drive you wish to add data then cutting and pasting music from the PC to the Nokia 770 should just work.

My recollection of Nokia 770 was that we could only transfer data to the external card of the device in USB Mode?

So when you say it did not work, could you be more specific i.e. What operating system, what you did to where, what were the messages when it did not work?

Thanks for replying. I've managed to transfer a few files now (I think I was trying to transfer incompatible file formats before), but it will only let me download a couple of albums before saying the memory card is full. That doesn't seem right to me - what do you think? (I'm transferring WMA files from a PC that uses Windows XP). The memory card does have the sat nav software on as well...

Thanks again.

Ok, so we can deduce from your reply that you have a N810 and you believe there should be plenty of space to add music on the 2Gb of internal memory.
(My understanding is the maps fill almost all of the 2Gb)

Quote extracted from http://www.nokiausa.com/A4626059
Storage

* Up to 2GB internal memory
* Support for compatible miniSD and microSD memory cards (with extender). Supports cards up to 8GB. (SD cards over 2GB must be SDHC compatible.)
You will need to consider purchasing extra compatible memory if you intend to store lots of music directly on the device. There is an option via Tools, Control Panel, Memory... to check the status of storage space on the cards installed. It will give you an idea how full your memory card(s) are.

Although wma files are not very big individually (Depending on your compression rate) it will not take long to fill up the available space if you are copying whole albums, if memory card is already full with maps.

Ok, thanks for that - I'll think about getting a bigger memory card. It is a 770 but I didn't realise the maps would take up most of the space.

Thanks for your help.
