Hi,

many thanks ! I tested your changes with my VDR-box, and it is working. I report to you only some minor issues:
- several buttons are useless with VDR, and with VDR should be probably better to map them with another function (or have the possibility to use them as macro to send more as one code): AUDIO/VIDEO/TV/RADIO/TEXT.
- sometimes the communication hangs for a while (some seconds), and after that all codes are sent together to the VDR, producing a messy result.

However, they are minor issues. Things are working, many thanks again

As far as I was able to I haven't found more possible buttons using the "VDR-Live" Plugin.

Normally the not usable buttons are not visible in the VDR mode of DreamRemote.
It should look very similar to this at your N900:

Hmm... no, sorry. I wouldn't do that. We had already discussed that with the AZBox controls.
I'm currently unable to check in what state your VDR is. And there is no gurantee that a normaly useful macro could make something strange if you press the button while you are in the movie menu at example. So I'm sure you would agree with me that this could get sometimes very confusing or even dangerous for your movie archive. So I wouldn't do something like that until I have a easily and secure working solution for macros.

Yes, I know that problem. It depends on the load of your N900 and something strange with the network communication. At the beginning I thought it's my old Dreambox (it hangs sometimes with the normal IR Remote, too) - but I realized that this is communication related. So try to be patient if your box doesn't react in time and wait until the command is executed.
But if you know the menus of your VDR well you can type as fast as you want. The commands will be cached and executed by your VDR as soon as everything is ready.

Strange..I see all buttons, such as TV, Radio, Text, Info, Audio. They are not shown in your picture. It does not matter, really, I want only report to you that it seems that these buttons are not always hidden as you wanted.

I make some tests and depends mainly on the network, in my case.

Hey there.
Damn god app, if only i could make it work :-)
I have a PVR 600 with Gemeni Project on it, but i simply can't make DreamRemote connect to it. And i do have a Webinterface on the IP adress of the box. Any clues??
Thanx a lot..

Hmm... could you perhaps add 2 remotes at the settings, save the setting and switch once between the two layouts? This could fix it. But I'm not sure.

...except this part of your sentence.

  • Does the Webinterface work if you enter the IP adress at the N900 Webbrowser?
  • Are there a Firewall between your N900 Wifi connection and your PVR 600?
  • Have you a password set at the webinterface? DreamRemote won't run if you have to login.
Perhaps one of this points helps...

Your last sentence hit the spot, yes there is a login requester.
Now, how do i remove that?
And maybe that would be an idear to integrate that in your app :-)

Man, i am looking forward to seing this in action :-)

Regards

Found it. Works now. AWSOME APP :-)
But the dot is still red all the time, but the box does react.

Yes, but sadly I currently don't know how.
I'm planning to learn more about TCP/IP communication and HTTP at my ClipMan project. I don't know when but perhaps I realize during the development how to solve the Login Issue at DreamRemote.

Hmm... that's strange. Does it react "in time" or does it take more than 3 seconds?

Perhaps you could slide the timeout slider at the settings screen to the maximum and see how it reacts.

It reacts instantly, no hesitation at all.
Curious :-)

So, after several tests I realized that I have to rewrite the most of this application to be able to run it later at the MeeGo devices... so prepare yourself for a hopefully great QML User Interface!

But since DreamRemote supports now a lot more Devices beyond those from DreamMultimedia I'm searching for a more universal name.

Any suggestions?
Or should I simply keep the name?
