what about apple apps then ? should or shouldnt be ported to N900 ?
what about players which can directly play video sites ?
what about flash player ? or software like i-swifter ?
what about medical apps?
every idea is a beginning to set a new era ,just appreciate the idea though later on we may decide whether it is portable or not ..

Please educate yourself on what porting an application means, what it involves and what the prerequisites are.

You cannot take a binary app from one device and 'port' it to make it magically work on another, completely different one.

Get yourself a iphone if the n900 is not for you, i like maemo still

Lmao ..never intended to hurt any one's eyes ,beside that i do feel N900 is best ever machine ,atleast to me .iphone is boring or i would have bought it cuz i bought my N900 three months ago ,it just that i miss some great great applications ,what i quoted above was right and hopefully we will have those iOs apps one day ,soon
do you think if there is any problem asking for an apps like ( i-swifter ) or ( quicktime player ) which can run video sites smoothly and act as proxy at the same time ..

I dont see any stupidity in it. As far as pinto in farari is concerned... well Then get us iphone 4g or 5g os. I think Developers should give a serious thought about it. After all, althout, no one uses still having win98 on n900 gives a great satisfaction feeling.

Running iOS on the n900 is possible. But not without an awful lot of work, and inside access to the full iOS source code (I'm not sure if anyone has that!). After all, Apple ported OSX to run on Intel PCs, and the N900 has at least the same architecture as the iPhone (ARM).
That said, a few things stand in the way. For example, the fact that the N900 has a resistive screen - which means multitouch applications (which most iOS apps are) wouldn't run properly. Also, the hardware buttons - the N900 has a hardware keyboard, which it may be possible to make drivers for (there are after all external keyboards for the iPad), but no good candidate for a "home" button. Finally, apps which depend on any hardware functions (like the camera) would probably not work.
If anyone here works at Apple, has access to the iOS source code, an N900 and a lot of time on there hands, doesn't mind getting fired and probably sued, and is an expert coder, by all means do the port! With computers, nothing is impossible. But it is EXTREMELY unlikely to happen.
