Hey,

Have you guys every experienced your n800 not powering up? It's pretty random but after a while it works again.

Thanks,

I have the same symptom (see my other posts)...It gets better non power off the unit from the menu, instead keeping pressed the power button until off. But the problem is again sometimes. The only way to bring the NIT back to life is several attempts to turn it on, and voila. Best thing to do is keep on idle (not turning the unit off). Maybe a faulty lot, I suspect.

I quickly resolve this problem AND the N800 suddenly ignoring my 8GB SDHC Class 6 Transcend memory cards by simply removing the battery, counting to 5, replacing the battery and she boots right up.....complete with both memory cards back in action.

I think the bootrom/loader is buggy, even after the upgrade....causing both problems.

Can you explain the fix again? And was this a permanent fix?

Thanks,
Sammm

I have the same problem. Sometimes it won't power up after a full power down. Have to try the button several times, and suddenly it starts up. Have tried everything from short press to lonooong press on button.
Maybe when I upgrade to OS2008 the problem will disappear?

I have a brand new N800 - its acting in the same manner. I was thinking of returning it. But as suggested on some other threads on the same issue, I kept the battery out over night and it turned on again this morning. Suprisingly the battery was only 1/3 full (never used the device sine the full charge). If anyone has a permanent solution, please let us know.

I just got an N800 from the Buy.com sale with the same does not turn on problem. I have tried removing the battery, using AC etc, nothing is reliable.

I upgraded to OS2008 and saw no improvement. It may be a hardware issue.

I must send it back and hope they have one in stock to send me another.

Please post if you find a better solution.

MIne was a BUY.COM purchase also. Lookslike a hardware issue. I am going to replace the battery soon and see if that is a problem also. Mine powers down very fast.

I got the same problem, and the unit also came from buy.com. The battery also lasts in less than 1 hr with full charge. Maybe BUY.COM received all bad units?

Mine is also from buy.com and have problem with power up, again, solved by removing battery out for a second. I experienced one episode of battery lasted less than an hour even plugged in overnight. It has not been reproduced, my battery lasted over 2 hrs now.
