I see that there are two sizes of keyboards on the n800... a big one and a small one. The big one resembles "qwerty" very well. However, the small one the keys aren't ordered like a "qwerty" keyboard... can that be changed @ all?

You mean the on-screen keyboards I suppose? (I guess you do, as there aren't any others.. except external bluetooth keyboards..)

The big one is for thumbs, the small one for stylus, and the small one is also qwerty (unless you're in e.g. azerty land)

The only error in the small kbd is that the numerical keypad isn't correctly set up for a computer keyboard.

Is the keyboard configurable @ all? Can I change the size of the keys? Make em smaller? Or is it just those two sizes?

I think you'd want to first decode the appropriate .vkb in /usr/share/keyboards/ to xml (this perl script should do the trick: http://idoru.metadreams.net/~kimju/s.../decode_vkb.pl), edit height/width values under keysizes, then track down a copy of gen_vkb to compile your xml back into a vkb, and finally load your new virtual keyboard.

Good luck, and don't blame me if you break something!

Oh, and if someone knows how I could add a ctrl key to the vkb I'd love to know how, it'd be nice to have one to the left of the spacebar
