whats next for N900 users ?alternatives ? i dont see a better alternative to N900.so what about an other new N900 ?right me ))

what we would need is a N900 improve, just a better cam and video cam as we can still improve speed by overclocking and also a bit better display.


Does any one know if we can flash a androit phone with meego?

Same story as always - there is less interest in a device w/o cellular. But there is nothing precluding a branch in Cordia for classic maemo. Step 2 should be much easier as there will be MeeGo tablet devices. I'd hurry. The fremantle Cordia project is progressing and will probably be added to bugs.maemo.org soon.

same for me. I think the Hipe for the N900 was bigger than the N9 and it would be bigger with the N950

It is just pain for users who want a keyboard and are stick with the only meego device that Nokia will have (N9) without a keyboard and see those images.

Personnaly I will stick with my N900 until their is something much better that I don't see right now but what I can see is Nokia seam to go in a different direction then their users so many people here including me will switch to another company device that reflect more what we want.

It is hard to believe that such a big company seam not to understand and try moslty to toward a mass market than a specialisized market. They could do different marketing segmentation to respond to different users need.

I was taking a close look at the E6 as well. The hardware looks very well thought out. I work as a sysadmin so having a standard set of tools (SSH, VNC, RDP, OpenVPN & IPSEC clients) is a requirement though. I have no experience with Symbian and was worried about the likelihood of these apps becoming available given the E6's non-standard resolution. Could you post your thoughts about this?

Symbian not being continued is a concern, but not right now. Right now it is still the best if functionality is what you seek. Neither Android or ios come close.
What limitations do you speak of? I like the E6 but it's hard to argue against the brawn of the recent Android phones (such as the upcoming 4G slide on T-Mobile). Not having used either OS I'm a little lost on the practical implications of "more apps" vs. "better multitasking" arguments.

No argument there, my peeve was just with assigning the label "clasic" to the latest/last UI :-)

Intel, LG, Toyota etc.

There has been at least one MeeGo device before the N9 and there will be more afterwards.

To have a keyboard in the N9 to make like a N950
I really think that we can hack the N9 with that and fitting it in a N900 casing and use the N900 keyboard with those spec can someone tell me if it can be done easelly and what do you think. If we use the battery of the keyboard on top of the battery of the phone you can use it for 50 hours
