Dear friends.

i have some movies (format mkv ) in my pc i need to convert it to my nokia n900 mobile.can someone give me a good converter..

You should find your N900 can play most movies that are thrown at it.

You didn't mention what format they are (MPG/DVD/AVI/MKV/etc/etc/etc) which is relevant

sry..format is mkv.

Have you installed this? http://maemo.org/downloads/product/M...oders-support/

If so, you should be good to go. There's various threads around here regarding playing MKV files. Remember MKV is a container format, so while the n900 can handle MKV itself, inside there might be audio or video which it might not be able to handle.

I find that any video converter is the best in various formats resolutions and bitrates.

to get the best qualityplayback in your N900 set it to convert to

format: customised MP4
codec: h.264
resolution: 800x480
video bitrate: 2000

The second preset works perfectly for me - give best possible quality on n900(even on 50" TV) and smooth playback.
