Great phone for me also. I love the hwkb and landscape mode. I love the easiness to IM and multitask. Nothing comes close to it. To be honest, N900 was born with congenital birth defects, but like a cute kid with Down syndrome, I treat him with love and awe.

Right on--I'd even go a step further and say MOST of it has to do with the people contributing to maemo.org. Obviously, all the guys that are doing the programming and sharing their work with the community make this place good, but also, a little less obvious, are all the power user peeps that give so much peer-to-peer support. Thanks and props to you all! (You know who you are.)

My N900 stated that the coupled device supports OPP profile and obviously nothing else, whereas the Tab's opinion was that the N900 could be used for sharing Internet connection.

What model do you have? The P7500 (3G+WiFi) or the P7510 (Limited Edition, WiFi only)? I tried with the latter, and also other people posting on the 'net could not solve it...

I felt that the screen is sometimes unresponsive (selecting / closing tabs in the browser, and opening abbreviated Slashdot comments) and showing some inaccuracy: no you won't be able to hit that 3 pixel wide checkbox as in the N900's MicroB browser on an capacitive screen, it seems... Android version 3.1? -> my *****, even the Task Manager on the Tab is awful. For $499 /500-600€ it's a toy. Good for reading while lying on the bed or something like this, the GMaps support is ok and to be honest i like the battery endurance (coming from the N900 seems obvious), but not more than that.
Ouch--sounds like you don't like the Tab much. So far, I haven't had any issues with it though I've only had it for a short time and haven't played with it a whole ton.

I don't want to spin this off into talking about the Tab too much, but just so I don't leave you hanging, here are some quick answers:
- I have a Wifi-only tab
- As far as I know, the Honeycomb tablets don't support Ad-hoc Wifi (which is what Mobile HotSpot utilizes) or Bluetooth-DUN. So unless you throw on a custom rom, you are limited to Bluetooth-PAN tethering.
- 9000 wrote a good thread (thanks again 9000) about how to set that up. The short of it is you can simply run a script that just contains a bunch of network commands to route data back and forth properly. You can either run that script manually on the command line, through a queen bee widget, or even just automate it via dbus scripts. If you need more details to help set it up, post on that thread. 9000 is super helpful.
