I am able to bluetooth tether my N800 to my LG basic flip-phone to access the internet. How would I tether my Dell Streak 5 to my phone. The Streak is unlocked and has no sim.

You could try bluetooth tethering o wifi hotspot mode

Are you saying that the Streak 5 has a WiFi hotstop mode. If so, what are the steps required to enable that mode?

well pretty much any Android device running froyo (eg 2.2) or later has wifi hotspot and usb tethering. Being as the streak is running 2.2 i should have that. If your device is carrier branded you may be unable to use tethering.

My Streak 5 is not carrier branded since it is unlocked, however, there is no sim and no carrier. I need to tether the opposite direction. My LG phone is the source of the internet connection. I need to do a bluetooth DUN connection so that my Streak has internet.

I don't think the streak could receive bluetooth DUN at least to my knowledge

So it has had more or less the same level of support than the N900. It won't be upgraded to Android 2.3.5 and will be stuck in 2.2 unless Cyanogenmod supports it.

My Dell Streak 5 is a good replacement for my N800. After using that 4 inch tablet for 4 years, I became convinced that a 5 inch would be even better (it is). I can finally watch my Netflix movies, run Skype with video and the GPS receiver is super sensitive (unlike the N810).
