Is typing response painfully slow in Gmail when writing a draft for anyone else?

Even with my really slow speed on the N810's keyboard, the delay builds up to several seconds very quickly. So slow it's completely unusable.

I've only experienced this when writing or editing a draft for some reason. New emails that are not drafts give decent response time for typing.

This has me considering claws or modest.

Unless I need to select an entire filter/search result list of emails, I just use the plain HTML version of gmail on the tablet. It's much faster for me, and seems easier to navigate with the d-pad:

In case anyone is interested, I uploaded a script to tidy up the Google Reader screen layout on the n810: just very minor tweaks to remove whitespace (for some reason Expanded view/List view seem to take up more space on the n810 and wrap onto a second line) and reduce the clutter on the top bar.

I've now modified it a bit so it also increases the font size for the entries (but the rest of the page structure remains the same).

I'm finding a lot of mobile sites are working well on my N810, and much faster than the normal versions. Google's is http://www.google.com/m

From there you can set up a direct link to their mobile mail app, and it's extremely fast, though the compose window is very small, and the interface is different (everything's there--it's all in different spots, though). For reading mail, it's great. One possible disadvantage is that read mail shows as unread in the normal interface after you've read it. The /m Google site also has some other speedy tools, including that you can use Reader, I think, but I haven't figured out yet how to set up things to read in it yet (perhaps it needs to be done via the non-mobile reader). The site also provides compacted conversions of non-Google news stories, which is interesting, but sometimes unwieldy.

Another good site is http://m.wund.com/ which is Weather Underground's site--very fast and it even includes the radar map.

There should be a sticky thread here for mobile sites that work nicely on the N810. I have found quite a few.
