As general note, I'm doing my best to answer questions, and I apologize for not providing more detailed info, but I'm also taking care of three kids under the age of five right now. Roll your eyes at me if you must, but I'm doing my best.

So it's really

1. Install adblock

Repo

http://browser-extras.garage.maemo.org/browser-extras/
distribution: chinook
component: browser-extras

2. Restart browser

3. Subscribe

http://adblockplus.org/en/subscriptions

4. Enable the filters

by clicking on Adblockplus logo at the lowerish right corner of the screen and then checking the correct boxes

Yes, works for me now

bye bye ads

thank you sooo much

You may drop 3, and subscribe off the ABP panel - at least for me, all subscriptions made before I opened the panels did not get entered anyways.

I did not have to do #4. I did #2 without thinking about it, as I'm used to Adblock Plus on desktops.

A lot of us can't get adblock plus to handle the abp:// links. I have uninstalled greasemonkey and tried deleting the extensions.rdf file and now adblock plus is in the components menu, but still won't handle the links.

NP dude... The eye roll was not impatience because of the limited smilies that are available I guess I used in lui of a  smilie (runs head against wall).

In any event, from other posts it appears that it might conflict with greasemonkey. I'm assuming you did not install this in the past, yes?

Looks like greasemonkey does something to wipe out adblock plus when it installs.
No longer shows up in the components in MicroB. Sounds like Greasemonkey's not playing "nice".

Not only greasemonkey, but also the spellchecker seems to conflict with it. After deleting both, and then deleting the extensions.rdf file, and then reinstalling adblock plus, it handles the links correctly. However, I'm not entirely sure its working, even after adding a filter. Actually I don't even see an icon for adblock plus to tap on.
