right so my n900 is disassembled [ very easy i may add] the question is i have the usb connector ready to go back and using epoxy but! how do i know exactly if the usb is sitting pretty against the connectors on the board? i dont want to use the epoxy to set it in place to find out that the connectors are slightly out =/

well mine was repaired yesterday by someone I payed, ... after he used an nokia cable to check if it was working/charging. And YES, it was charging, thought i tell him to use an Samsung cable, he told me "no dont worry it is well "sticked""...

Then before just before paying him i ask him to check if The USB cable is working, he tell me yes it work too, then I insist to check before i left. he say ok.
He take a Nokia USb cable, he plug, and while unpluging, ha ha, I let u guess what happened.

the usb connecteur was a brand new one.
Their was a dea d 5800 their, I compare its USB connecteur, it was the same with the original one that was my N900, I ask him to use that one, and thus... it worked. he told me he has put some kind of glue designed for iPhone panel though before, thought am not really sure.

Then when It was time to check if the USB/charging was working, he wanted to reuse those nokia cable, i said him NEVER. , my bro have an blackberry, i'll use his charger, as this one is a lot smoother to plug/unplug (some samsung charger too).

thought once at home, I have used One Of my two nokia cable to check again if all was ok. and Guess what happened?.
it worked, but it was the last time i did it.
so now I use a blackberry charger. and share file via bluetooth, memory card or wifi.

Same old same old:

You all need to solder down your USB before this happens (sorry op for no help here....)
Like i have said alot of times it is almost every day that a N900 looses a USB.....
