Yeah. I bet some TMO users fantasize about how Elop is just a selfish exec and he's just waiting for the right time to spot Ballmer with his pants down to screw his sweaty *** from behind.

Figuratively speaking, of course.

@Jotoco: perhaps the guy at the store was Eldar('s follower).

Already updated in the "N9 [Shipping]: It's finally here [for some]" thread, but it looks like Nokia Mexico has informed my connection that they may not offer any warranty help/assistance to any USA/Canada customers for N9's purchased in Mexico.

It's not confirmed official, but it's close enough to official. I will follow up shortly.

My problem with this is that Nokia were to set up a direct community purchase program, this wouldn't be an issue. Give us one global place to send our phones just in case we need help/assistance/warranty work. I'm sure you'd see that folks would send it on in with us paying for the shipment to the service center(s).

So we know that Peter and Quim might not be the people to ask to get this done, but whom do we ask to get this started? Or at least to get some traction?

I need a plan B for not only myself, but for quite a few other folks.

There's a video? I've missed this. Do you have a link?

EDIT:
Found it. He mentioned it very briefly in that old video:

At least it confirms it's real

Maybe we could arrange several community members to arrange purchases of couple/few devices in countries were N9 is availeable. This way packaging, mailing, finding enough devices, etc would at tolerable level and there would be less money involved.

Im my fantasies the roles in the screwing are reversed, ie. Ballmer being penetrator and Elop the penetrated.

Figuratively speaking, of course.

He briefly mentions Meltemi in the leaked internal video about the first WP7 phone. Says (IIRC) that there will be work for Meego people on Meltemi project etc.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F6oidCTUw4s

(21 minutes total lenght. It's in there somewhere).

Yes this is the line from April this year:
"There will also be opportunities within the Meltemi organization, for personnel working within the MeeGo teams."
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2011/04...kia_cuts_memo/

Which makes sense if Meltemi is the 'new' Linux OS; I remember thinking at the time, "Why would someone who came from a maemo background want to work on the Windows Phone?", which is what the Register article intimated.

Seriously, if you guys have issues with you N9s and cant get it fixed in your country because you bought it somewhere else and had it sent to you, Im sure its possible to send it to for instance me, and have that person hand it in to a repair store for you, get it back, and send it back to you.

Im sure that wouldnt be a problem for nokia.

seriuosly if meltemi is old maemo we really was screwed by Elop hell he has made us angry for no reason and WP could be just a smoking gun what will come later...

I really hope this info is true. And swipeUI really was made for Meltimi and not WP.

infact this MUST be the most logical step. I mean QT/Swipe on S40. sounds sooo wrong... I mean lowend 2012 is what hiend is today.

but at the same time NW2011 is all about WP so I do not expect ANYThING related to Meltemi until NW 2012 and if N9 fails thiks may very well change again...
