Those damned Milahergs are always playing me up.

This Kernel business seems so damn complicated. I'm too scared to do any of this until I get another N900.

Maybe you're right, but I just wanted to overclocking dsp(digital signal procesor)but it did not manage to write correct command.Try with:"echo 1 > /sys/power/dsp_opps_rate" this shoud be load cpu/dsp by default,or leafpad ~/usr/sbin/kernel-config and then i choice for example 900:50:600 but is a problem how can i overclocking dsp to 600 аfter typing this command on terminal:cat /sys/power/dsp_opps_rate values starting from 50 and ending with 520. With two words I totally confused

I have built for me a kp49 build without the last dsp patches (one of which causes the media player problem), similar to the sep 21 build.
The ramzswap module also has stats enabled (they can be shown with "rzscontrol -s"), for those willing to play with it.
I'm making it available for anyone stuck with the last kp49 who doesn't want to go back to kp48, till a new kp49 build is available.
You'll find it here: https://garage.maemo.org/frs/?group_id=2036
Look under kp49.
Works for me, but the usual warnings apply: no guarantees, you can brick your device, ymmv, etc.

So, not sure if this is the right place to post this, but still. Been running kernel-power (downloaded via appdownloader) for like 2 months, no problems whatsoever. This afternoon, I discovered massive performance issues on my N900. Blacked out, reacting very slow. After a few reboots, found out it had to do with my online status on Skype. As this is one of the main functions of this phone I intend to keep using it

So, tried it all. Deleted last installed apps, everything. Nothing helped. Also tried de-installing kernel-power. Didn't work (used the menu shortcut). Then reflashed after 3 hours of trying things out (this phone is my only one), everything seemed to work fine, could login to Skype without problems. Then installed kernel-power (again via appdownloader) and the problem of hanging, slow reactions and such was there again! This time, I could remove kernel-power through the menu, and it looks like my N900 runs like before again. No troubles.

As you might have noticed, I'm far from an expert. Tried to look for general logfiles, but no look. I just don't have the knowledge. Just wanted to let you guys know what I experienced, it might not be related at all, but I don't have a clue.

Please let me know if I can be of any more help, and excuse me if this post doesn't belong here...

@ left: humour me and with power 48/49 installed try disabling power saving via system > settings > internet connections and then try skype.I have had issues resolved by doing this.
