Forgive the newb question as im getting my 800 today, can i download the os2008 to my pc and transfer over to the nokia, will that work, thanks in advance!
Stability is an issue with maemo.org on a regular and frequent basis, seemingly at any hour of the day or night. You just never know what sort of response you are going to get when you click. That makes me not want to visit the site, especially if a new or popular application is being released or upgraded.
Whatever the reason - be it poor web application choices / web app framework / server(s) implementation - whatever is driving Maemo.org, tablets-dev.nokia.com (in behind Akamai services), and related is... well... crap at this point.
Since tablet users hit these sites on a regular basis, even though the web app performance issue isn't tablet-specific, the tablet user experience is certainly tarnished.
