Just flashed my N800 with 2008 firmware for the first time (haven't dared put the beta on).

Wow! Such lightness, such beauty! I'm _very_ impressed. This OS truely looks and feels like modern tablet OS and is closing the gap with gadget whose name will not be mentioned.

And speed! How can this OS run sooo much better then the old one...

Just wanted to say kudos in case any devs are reading this.

It runs faster because the OS upgrade brought a CPU clock change, from 330mhz to 400mhz.

And there were also other optimizations done as well.

It's a great upgrade, I've just done mine and it's like having a brand new tablet.

No problems at all so far, just lots of lovely surprises like the worldwide internet radio directory, and the FM radio alarm clock.

It all feels faster and smoother, nothing spectacular but enough to appreciate it. The browser seems a lot better now too.

I have to agree with the others here. I am thankful for the kind soul that put the update in the web making it possible to download after several failed attempts this morning. Right now I'm listening to BBC radio 4 thanks to the player which has Real audio. I, too, like the look and feel. The larger icons make it easier to navigate for me. Skype and Rhapsody work great. I like the web browser too. I was going to sit back and let the update take place without me. I'm sure glad I didn't because this is a nice improvement.

Sounds like os2008 is worth the wait. I think I'll try to update in a day or so, to see if the download speed is better than whats reported

Nice improvements in the internet radio application. Now the title and artist are displayed (have to manual refresh the window to update the info, maybe this will be fixed later). Finger menu is also nice to use and easier to read (some of us are visually challenge ).

The Boingo Mobile for $7.00 offer is a great buy compared to the $39.00 (worldwide price) I was paying. Thank you Boingo/Nokia!!!

I've said as much elsewhere, but the new OS is much, much more responsive than OS2007. Good job, Maemo team!

Nokia appear to have removed the update. Using the Update Wizard I am told there is no new update. Using the manual link I just get an error message.

Nokia hasn't removed it. They just use underpowered server/bandwidth...
