I have a serious question. Id very much like to know if it is safe to use the digiaweb browser to do my online banking to on sites where my credit card is required. I know Opera mobile isnt safe for these types of activities so I havent used that browser for that purpose. I heard it goes through a proxy. Funny this is that Digia web actually allowed by activities on full sites where as microb would only allow access to the site to a certain extent but then I couldnt do anything else with it. Any answer for this question would be greatly appreciated.

If You *really* can't do something using microB (BTW, could You be more specific, what exactly doesn't work?), I would recommend using Iceweasel (firefox) via Easy Debian. Also, if you're connecting through network that You can't trust fully, ssh'ing to your home computer (particularly, any trusted machine, connected to trusted network), and forwarding all connection through tunnel, may be sane thing to do. Just remember to edit ssh client configuration on N900 - it defaults to set *-cbc algorithms at higher priority than ctr, unlike current versions of upstream ssh. cbc was somewhat compromised in 2009 (it's not easy to crack it, but possible with enough effort).

hope it helps

I was trying to transfer money from one account to another in chase. It allowed me to get to the last step witch was called verify but wouldnt let me complete the transaction. I did not try this with digiaweb though. I also ran into a problem payimg for a pirchase on ebay using paypals credit card service. It wouldnt processed it. I tried using chromium and feenec to get the transaction processed but neither of thos browsers worked. Suprisingly when I used digiaweb, it went through without a problem. I used my credit card info in the transaction and Im kinda worried that digiaweb wasnt secure enough to put such a transaction through. I would try Ice Wesel but it crashed all the time when I had it set up on LXDE. Couldnt get it to work right. Besides being so, it was very unstable.

Opera goes trough a proxy only if you enable "Opera Turbo" from the settings.

As for PayPal credit card payment, I have no problem using this with microB. I also doesn't see any reason why microB could have a problem with any bank account, unless it's using some fancy and uncommon java things (most unlikely for banks - I've seen this only once, when trying to book tickets for a show through Livenation with possibility to choose seat from map with real-time view of already reserved seats - that was using "fancy" uncommon java setting and failed on both microB and Iceweasel. But that was only one situation when I was unable to do something www related in my N900 - it works all the time, no matter if it's java, php ajax or whatsnot)

Also, if Iceweasel isn't working for You, you may have something wrong with Your ED installation (maybe You've upgraded something that required gconf-2 upgrade = essentially f***ed up Your ED image, and need to start from scratch?). Also, it really wonders me, why PayPal isn't fully functional for You via microB - maybe You got something screwed up on whole Maemo settings level?
