The obnoxious problem is that it's on Hotmail's side (protocol) and it's not in MS's best interest to really make it work. (They fully support it on all Windows Mobile devices and now on some Nokia devices.. beyond that it's a policy of 'ehh... it MAY work for you but we might break it.')

Hey guys I know all the buzz is about the Galaxy Nexus, but I already have ideas for the next gen Nexus. I think it should be called Google Nexus Quad.
Idea one - don't use capacitive touchscreens, in fact don't use touch screens at all use infrared sensors. Infrared doesn't require adding another layer to the display it is just as "responsive" to end users and it allows the usage of practically any input device ie gloves or a stylus. Ir is cheaper to produce and that is why you see it in all-in-one and kiosk computers like the ms surface.
Idea Two - tapered edge at the bottom facing down and an edge at the top facing your gives the device a design inspired by a sport car. Make the device out of metal like brushed stainless steel, brushed aluminum, or a magnesium alloy.
Idea 3 - Qualcomm S4 SOC for maximum performance and efficiency.

Fantasising is awesome but in the real world power consumption would be through the roof. The device would die in half an hour.

The new Tegras Quad-Core will use less power consumption than the current dualcore phones

I was referring to the infrared sensors for touchscreen on a mobile. There is no way that would last even remotely long enough on a mobile battery. It will be a heavy drain.

actually it would use less power because it would just be sensors embedded into the display, rather than putting a layer on top of the display. It means a thinner more clear display. Touch Ebook readers use this technology, like the nook Simple touch. Plus it is advancing enough for use in smaller consumer electronics.

Not sure where you heard this but that's not entirely true, power consumption is a big problem with infra-red touchscreens. 35 mW is still HUGE just for a touch interface but not a problem for e-readers since they do not need a backlight or an always on GSM, which is one of the biggest power drains in mobile phones. Adding another 35mW power drain will significantly reduce this. For a comparison of power draw from components in a mobile phone look here

Sony introduced infra-red sensors on an e-reader after the PRS 600. I have one of these readers. On an e-reader you do not rely on a backlight, this makes the situation of screen visibility much worse since it is a "reflective" screen. That means you lose light from surface reflection and attenuation in the material, what's worse with such a screen is that this happens a minimum of two times as the light must both go into and out of this layer for the eink layer to be visible making it equivalent to a layer twice as thick as one on a backlit display. On a phone however this is not that much of a problem and it is purely transmittance that you must concentrate on.

They are not thinner nor more clear. The infra-red sensors are actually relatively much thicker but the thickness is seen as a step in the bezel since the frame houses them. That means devices will actually become thicker as a whole. The layer on touchscreens are also no longer separate layers (out-cell). There are On-cell and In-cell TSPs that means that the touch sensitive layer is built into the display which means there are fewer layers so there is even less attenuation and less thinkness. Super AMOLED is the mainstream name for samsungs "on-cell TSPs". If you want to read up about touchscreen display technologies look here
