I did not find any article in the forum and Google did not help either
(I know MaeSynth but it is not quite what I want, SunVox is quite
complicated)

Is there any tone generator for the N900 where I simply can set the Hz and some other characteristics like sinus, sawtooth ...whatever and the build in hardware generates this tone over loudspeaker or
headphone output?

If you can find any such open source prog for linux porting it shouldn't be a problem. Not sure though what is your expected feature-set.
