Question I have, if anyone has tried this or know whether it can be done, can you place an internet call between a N800 and a N810? Is it possible, theoretically possible, not possible? Got an N800 already, and would like to get an N810 for the keyboard, but can they talk to each other?

Majorly!

Yes, they can call each other in a number of ways (Jabber, Gtalk, Skype, SIP, Gizmo) My preference would probably be something like Jabber or Gtalk (XMPP/Jabber based) as it's lightweight and built-in. That would give you text, voice and video between the two tablets depeding on what you wanted to use at the time.

yes, gtalk which is builtin on OS2008 allows one to call from 810 to 810 or 810 to 800 with video call also suported.
There is gizmo also as well as all other options ... as mentioned in prior post.

I tried with 2 N810 units and it was perfect.

Thanks for your replies. I am trying to make a video call between a n800 and a n810 device. Both are updated with all the latest updates. I am able to connect to the internet with the wi-fi connection, and I even used Skype to make a IM chat and voice call, this proved that I have a connection to the internet. But since I am interested in producing video, I wanted to know how I could do that. I tried creating a google gmail account for each device and connecting that way, but I keep getting the presence icon flashing between on and off and a message now and then that it was "Unable to connect on or more accounts". I will try jabber, but in the mean time, any other ideas of why Google Talk or my N800/N810 might have problems connecting? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hey thanks all for you're help. I finally got it working using Jabber. I deleted my google account settings, and created a Jabber account. And it was great to see the presence icon flash and then stay solid. I created one for the other device and then played around with it until I got the chat working perfectly. Once that was working, I tried an internet call and it was sweet success. Thanks again guys for your advice and proof that Nokia was wrong.

Alright, I found out the real problem. It worked at home but not at work. Then we picked up a wireless router with a Sprint broadband laptop card to give us wireless access to the cell network, and that worked too. After talking to the networking guys, my work's wireless controller was blocking the ports we needed to connect to the accounts, which would explain why we could connect to the internet and Skype, but not Google or Jabber. Thanks for all your posts. advice, and help.

Glad to see you got it figured out, Majorly. I have run into the same problem while using Best Buy's AP, as well as a few others. In that case, they block the ports to limit bandwidth I guess.
