i want to flash my n900 obviously now i downloaded the flash file and the flasher to my old xp laptop and installed the flasher and copied the flash files to there appropriate folder now i hold the u key while inserting the cable to put it into flash mode it comes on and the icon shows up at the to right corner of the screen now i enter the commands required to flash phone but when the flaher gives a message saying suitable usb device found booting into flash mode the display on n900 changes but when i looked at it the screen with the little penguin for the U-Boot screen comes up and it stops there (THE BACKLIGHT IS STILL OFF) is there any advice you can give and i there a way to remove the uboot also i tried to install the multi-boot so i can install Nitdroid/android thats how all this came about.

Anyway, it sounds like it's going into charging mode instead of flashing mode. I've had similar issues getting it to flash in the past - using a Linux boot CD and flashing it from there has proved more successful.

As for getting rid of u-boot - you need to reflash the kernel to do that.

ok i got rid of uboot AWESOME ...................ok i also have a problem flashing the EMMC i dont no what to do im a newbie so im doing some searches with no luck. i successfully flashed the fiasco image without the -R at the end and the i entered cmd to flash the emmc but it stalled on me the OS is booting ok but i cnt seem to get the emmc flashed here is the cmd's i used
( cd C:\program files\meamo\flasher-3.5
flasher-3.5.exe -F RX-51.bin -f
flasher-3.5.exe -F emmc.bin -f )


but when i try to flash the emmc this is what i get image 'mmc' , 255947kb version RX-51_2009SE_10.2010.13-2.VANILLA. Suitable USB device not found waiting. USB device found at bus bus-0. device address \\.\libusb0-0001--0x0421-0x0105 . found device RX-51, hardware revision 2204 NOLO version 1.4.14. version of sw-release RX-51_2009SE_21.2011.38-1_PR_MR0. Booting device into flash mode. Suitable USB device not found. i left it over an hour and it still was the same. what can i do please anyone

ok i flashed it with success but did not reboot i input the cmd for the emmc to flash but no luck

please make sure ur win XP already install n900 software before u flashing . its happen with my phone last time. so u need to wait the windows installed the n900 driver.

try in linux it supports better for flashing

i am running this on win xp home ed and software is installed

i also tried it many times on xp sp2 but failed. try it in xp sp3. it will flash it successfully. i flashed it in sp3 and it flashed it without any error.
