If it's posted somewhere I missed it, but how do I make claws the default email client...? and either remove the original email that comes with the n800 or just not use it if removal is a pain. On the claws maemo site I only found a script that moves current mail over to the claws mail program.

claws won't flash for me after checking everything. However when I click "device on" the led comes on when the screen goes into hibernate... so it does work. It appears claws isn't notifying the led system to activate. I have it set to retrieve mail automatically, and I hear the new mail sound play but no led light flashes when my screen is off. Any ideas? All led options in control panel are on except for "Device on"

One more thing I notice is that the number of messages reported in the panel are not most of the times correct. Sometimes it's under-estimating and in others it's over-estimating. Has someone seen this?

Not sure if this is what you mean, but when downloading messages, Claws acts as if there are always at least 13 new messages. For example, if there is in fact just one new message to be downloaded, the progress bar at the bottom will read "13/14", and then "14/14", and then it will produce the one new message. Strange, yes. But I've gotten used to it.
