I just bought mine a couple of months ago, I'm a Debian user, and I just love this device, I can ssh'd to it (run my Debian apps on it http://tinyurl.com/6qf593s ;D) installed cssu. powerkernel, and some other hacks, right now I'm trying to sync it with ownCloud using syncevolution, is giving me a little trouble, but I'm learning a lot

i sold my N900 to my friend about 2 months ago and bought a android device. Android has nothing except apps and games. Multi-tasking is the biggest problem in Android. Now im planning to buy another N900. is its good to buy it now as im watching this community discussions are mostly on N9 and N9 apps.

Should i buy a N900 ? I have used N900 for about 1 year.

You must have a really sneaky friend there or must have been on a very tight budget to sell an N900 just for testing Android.

Of course you should buy one. I bought one myself today.

70 USD including original charger, cables, manual and a second N900 in parts. Lousy maintained but functionall device at a correct price so I don't need sell my sister to finance it.

Paid equivalent of approx. $USD 85 on Ebay (Sweden). Worth every penny. Followed this 2009 Maemo thread - worked well - love the SIP capabilities. http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=36098

The worst thing about N900 is its slow hardware, start an app and it will take few seconds before it really shows its window. Browser is even slow, those new androids loads pages so fast! I seriously don't miss many applications, offline navigation is among the biggest problem (except if you already bought sygic mobile maps about a year back).

However after two months, I will probably get a new android from At&T, not sure if I can live with android but it should be okay. I am not selling my N900 anytime sooner though.
