Dear users and hackers,

Here is my request for comments for the new generation UI for the QAD Internet Radio Recorder. What do you think? Does this provide more usability over the current one and which features you would like to see. The biggest idea is that you can have "parallel play/record" page, so that you can browse the other pages meanwhile.

EDIT: 12.2.2012
The first version of the UI with the previous released feature set is ready for integration to nokia store.

The scheduler needs some work, and will not be released in 0.0.6. To be postponed to 0.0.7 release.

Screenshots from 0.0.6

It seems that the version 0.0.5 has a different kind of bug this time.

It does not start to play the channel and it just jumps between states. This can be overcome with having two channels in the list and selecting first one, playing it, then selecting another one and doing the same. On the second channel playback it starts to work. :/

I will fix this as soon as possible and I can not describe how sorry I am for providing crap quality at the moment. Hopefully I can improve this and you do not need to suffer from bad code quality.

From topic to another one, the transition from free to paid version for the free users, should be free. As only the patch number of the application was changed. Please comment if the update was not a freebie as then there is a bug in ovi store client for n9 and we need to report it to nokia.

It seems that I had misunderstood the Ovi store pricepoint thing. I thought that I would be able to publish an application as free and then change the price point to x. And also all of those you who downloaded for free would get the updates for free.

But this does not seem to be the case. So I am forced to release a "QAD Internet Radio Recorder FREE" for you guys who would like to have the application and to test it, but do not see the application to be worth for paying for. Meanwhile there will be the paid version which you can always buy to support the development.

So to said in short, my idea was NOT to screw the community over in this, the idea was that those active members would have the application for free as well as the future updates. But definitely a separate free version will serve the community better, as then you have a choice which one to get and if you want to pay for it or not

Version 0.0.6 is now in Store.

It includes:
- new UI
- some new backend code for fixing buffering issues
- buffer level in the "Recorder" page.

As a release notes, I minimized the features for this 0.0.6 new UI and increase the features back in next release 0.0.7 to what it was previously, so that I can make sure the quality of the software.

Features which were removed in 0.0.6 version, but will be added in 0.0.7:
- Listen only
- Record only

Features pending (technical solution is done, but needs more work):
- Scheduled recordings
- Recordings browser, including metadata editor
- Diskspace warning system and limits for recording
- Caching and record adjusting
- "alarm clock" feature, wake up in the morning with your favorite internet radio

Known possible bugs:
- in 0.0.6, I saw that the FileName value is not updated on the UI when there is no metadata, etc. To be fixed in 0.0.7.
- in general I have noticed some wlan related issues with radio streaming, but as I use directly gstreamer in the application I have no idea how to handle this, except to add some kind of "ping" or "dns" poller in the background for network access checking. To be investigated more. At least now in the 0.0.6 you will see the buffer level.

I've been using this software few weeks now, I noticed this annoying bug:

If the signal is lost while recording and you get a little pause in the record, it will always overwrite the last recording!
e.g. You have recorded one song for example 4mb and suddenly it stops and starts recording over the last 4mb file.

Is it possible to name all these recordings like xxx - xxx (1).mp3 and (if same filename) xxx - xxx (2).mp3 etc.?
