This is my first post here and damn would I love some insight/advice regarding what the H is going on with my N800 tablet. Here's what I was doing when it crashed:

I was doing two things (foolishly at the same time). 1) I was in the Memory App and had just started allocating 16MB to Virtual Memory 2) I was eagerly trying to put in the 2G Memory Card I got in the mail today.

As the N800 was working on reformatting the memory and I was putting in my Chip the N800 just turned off. I took out the chip and tried to turn it back on. Nothing. Plugged it into the charger. Nothing.

I can only assume that it is having issues because I tried to put in the memory card as it was reformatting the memory. Is it stuck in limbo? How do I get it working again?? I leave the country next wednesday and I was planning on bringing my new electronic buddy with me. Please Help!

Thanks, David

Hi, Davie;

I had same problem as you had. but right now It works fine. Please don't turn power off by the power key on the top. you have to hold it just for second and when the manual appears, you can select "switch off" and turn N800 off....

after few seconds or minutes...you can turn it on without any problem...

in the beginning, I was thinking return it to buy.com. but everything is ok now and I also get OS 2008 updated to my new N800.

Hopefully, it works for you too.

Try taking the battery out and then putting batery back in. I had that happen once to me and that fixed the problem.

Waves of relief wash over me. Took out the battery and put it back in. Duh. THANK YOU ALL.

Now. Anyone else with a MAC G4? How easy is it to change over to OS 2008??

Happy New Year All

Not only did this happen to me the first time I shut it down, but It still does it EVERYTIME I turn it on. I don't like the idea of taking out the battery for 10+ minutes every time I want to turn it on. =(

I'm hoping it will magically stop doing it like everyone else's.
