It does nothing, no light,nothing.
I fine it funny that the "senior members" base there comment on the number of posts people have made, and assume your either thick or never read other posts.
Like i said iam not looking for a fix but asking what would you do if your new expensive device would not turn on out the box?
Return or Not.

You find *****s like that on any board. Either ignor it or do something about it. They claim to help but are just doing the opposite.

Steph:
You need to understand that like many other topics, this one has about fifty threads in this forum. The senior members are helpful to those who realize that it's probably been seen before, and took the time to look through the posts first before ranting about the same problem. Maybe they should be a bit more welcoming up front, and who cares if there are more threads in this forum anyway? I don't. There's room for everyone in here including you. But would you welcome someone into your home wearing shoes when the sign outside reads "Please remove your shoes" ?
I also understand your plight... it may be that the battery in affected users' devices may be defective from the factory. If you can find another one at a store or online (they are very cheap in the grand scheme of things) you may be able to solve the problem once and for all. That would bring the love of many members in here to your doorstep and prove to Nokia that they have a problem with their product, and at that point you will only need to return the battery alone for recall. This forum is for solutions. Let's work it out.
If the battery doesn't solve the problem, just return it and the device and chock it up to bad luck....
