By the way, version 1.0.0 of Pierogi has just made its way into the Extras repository!

I'm using latest extras-devel version, yet, I can't find any thomson keysets. Thomson *do* appear on the list, but without any device to choose from. It's also the case for few other manufacturers from latest update.

t's only me, or something went wrong?

In any case, thanks for this great program - even if reading about it makes me hungry every time

Ah, I would guess you are using the "Select Keyset by Device" list. That list uses the information I've currently got on devices that are known to work with Pierogi (or, at least, the ones I believe to work correctly). You can see this list in its entirety on the Compatibility List wiki page. Unfortunately, this list is relatively small for the moment.

For now, the better way to choose keysets is via the "Select Keyset by Name" list, which gives you access to all the keysets in Pierogi.

Eventually, I hope to make the Select by Device list just as useful as the Select by Name list, but that's probably going to take a long, long time.

As many users I do also have problems with SONY device and pierogi .

SONY Compact Disc Player CDP-XE370
(thank you for so fast keyset addition)

So range here is not a problem. It is working even from 3-4m .
The problem I do have is that many keys only work when I tap very fast a button (very very often I had to tap it very fast like 3-6 times to get reaction).
When I do push constatnly a button or tap it with normal typical speed the there are like 30-50% chance that there will be no reaction.
With vloume buttons 100% ( only very fast tapping works).

I'm not sure how good it worked in qtirreco (few updates ago it stoped working for me) since its interface was crap and you had to tap fast buttons to not move them by mistake but I think that it was a bit better.

I did check it from very close range and far range.

Power, mute buttons dont work.
Rewind buttons dont work when taped constantly only do rewind few sec forward, back when single taped
Missing fade button.

Tested on 1.1.2, all SONY CD keysets

update: I did test it a bit more and rewrote a bit my observation.
update2: I am using also my n900 as remote for Philips, Lg, Panasonic TVs, JVC DVD and it works nice so it shouldnt be my device problem

Some info for Philips TV keysets

Same keysets worked for me with series 6000 TV and some CRT models from year 1989 (They are working 23 years without any brakedown).
I did found also that my parrents CRT LG TV works on Philips keysets.

When I will be able to check models I will post them.

Request.

Mediasat Satelite Decoder (many times rebranded, is it Philips?).

Remote Control Philips rc8244

Had no succes with current Philips SAT keysets but this piece of crap is hard to use even with oryginal remote controls.
And my Philips series 6000 TV was detecting (diode blinking, no other action) signals from qtirreco that I was using to control this crap decoder.

Thank you.

Update
After some search I think it is PIONEER 1430 or 1530 but I am 100% sure that Philips rc8244 is used with it ( I am confused).

There are probably multiple Magnum and Telenet devices, and I may have passed on codes for a model I don't own

On the Magnum TV, it says:
TV 7090 VT
RS 20449

On the Telenet digicorder, it says:
Model Q81-TLN

I'll hunt a bit myself when time permits

Ah, this sounds like I've got the protocol's repeat frames wrong. (By tapping very fast you are pretty much doing the repeat function yourself...) But that really should be causing the same trouble on all Sonys... Hmm...

Drat, I just am not finding anything unique about that CD player. I have a Sony DVD player here, and holding a button down is working correctly for it. Sony goes to great lengths to ensure that all of its remote controls work in a consistent fashion.

There must be something about Sony devices that I am missing...

Missing fade button.
That's actually my fault. The current Pierogi UI is still mostly oriented towards video devices, so I haven't put buttons like "fade" into the UI yet. Still need to work on that...

Yes, the "LG TV Keyset 2" is using the Philips RC5 protocol, so I wouldn't find that to be a surprise.
