Since the Nokia N9 is finally here, I've ported Nanoparticles to that platform as well. You'll find it in Nokia Store:

And the source code is updated for Harmattan too, so if you're into building your own applications you find more information about where to grab the source code here:

To be honest, an update for Nanoparticles - including at least few of features discussed before - would be *much* more appreciated

It has been a long time, but I am proud to present that Nanoparticles 2 is out. You can download it for N900, N950, N9 and more in Nokia Store:

Download from Nokia Store

Version 2.0 of Nanoparticles brings in a new party mode with particles that can repel your enemies, enable time dilation and teleport you to new areas of the level. Thanks to all of you who have brought up and discussed these ideas here.

In addition, thanks to the great efforts behind Qt and Necessitas, the game is now available for Android tablets and phones as well, should you wish to try it on your tablet as well:

Download from Android Market

The upgrade to version 2 should be free for all previous buyers and should hopefully pop up in the update manager on your phones. If not, try to re-download the game from Nokia Store. (On the N9 you will currently have to update it through Nokia Store until PR1.2 is shipped).

It's great to see this also running in Android. How was your experience in the port?

Porting was easy. The custom Qt Creator does most of the job automatically and I almost didn't have to change any of the code. Some versions of the simulator doesn't always play along to well with OpenGL stuff, but running on a device is no problem.

Hi again,

I need some help testing the demo version of Nanoparticles and was hoping that maybe some of you in the community with an N9 could help me out?

There are some reviews in Nokia Store about the Nanoparticles Free version going straight to the end-of-demo screen after level 1. This should happen after level 10, not level 1, so the reports are worrying. Even more so, I'm unable to reproduce this problem on my own phone, so I could use some help from you to see if you experience the same behaviour with the demo.

You can download the demo here.

The demo uses the same config file as the full version, so issue this command in the terminal before testing the demo if you already have the full version of Nanoparticles installed:
Code:
mv /home/user/.config/Dragly/Nanoparticles.conf /home/user/.config/Dragly/Nanoparticles.conf.old
If you could also try to run the game from the terminal to see if the output gives any clues about this bug, I would be very grateful. The command to run from terminal is
Code:
/opt/nanoparticles-demo/bin/nanoparticles-demo
After testing, you may issue this command in terminal to get your original settings back:
Code:
mv /home/user/.config/Dragly/Nanoparticles.conf.old /home/user/.config/Dragly/Nanoparticles.conf
I'm very grateful if you have the time to help me debug this problem.

Hi Dragly.

Long time ago I've had problems with buying Nanoparticles via store (not accepting my credit card), so I've payed via paypal and You've sent me link to installable version & source code (N900). Due to this, I can't update to Nanoparticles 2. Could You help with this?

Also, it's still Open Source (i.e. people buying now or ones that bought Nanoparticles 1 receive source code alongside installable)?

Hi Estel,

Sorry, I completely forgot about sending you a copy of the new version. I've sent you a PM with the link now

I currently don't have a demo version for Maemo 5 to test. I'm waiting to see if it works properly for Harmattan first.

The source code is hosted here and is available for browsing and download for everyone. I have not distributed the source code along with the game since most people probably don't need the source on their phone but on their computer
