appears to be a known issue, especially with python2.5 (repo package is somehow horked)...

see here

http://repository.maemo.org/pool/bor...3-10_armel.deb

You can download them and open in your app manager, however, I think the repos are working already (I just installed Python 2.5 runtime on my 2007He!) and you should be able to do it the right way (I mean adding those repos if you don't have them yet:
http://repository.maemo.org/extras
http://repository.maemo.org/
see http://www.gronmayer.com/it/index.ph...&system=maemo3) and installing Pyhton from the app manager).

- interesting... ncurses and readline updated on my OS2007 n800, but libsdl-ttf2.0 fails to install (App Mgr reports 'unable')...

<sigh>

(may have to break out the root cli?)

OK - i finally figured out my problem w/the inability to install libsdl-tiff-2 and python2.5-runtime (because i want to use sdictview): the gnumeric-plugins package!

apparently, installing this package pulls in python2.4 and associated libs...

i uninstalled the plugins, uninstalled python2.4, then installed the libs and python2.5 runtime with no problem...

whew! took me a while to figure that out...

as an aside, i found out how easy it is to hork an n800 running OS2007 - i was poking around in red pill mode, then 'upgraded' the libgtk2 package - big mistake... but a good one, as reflashing was simple as pie, and now i have a slimmer, trimmer system with a better selection of clients...

love this little tablet!
