Thanks for the idea, but it doesn't seem to work like that for me. Clicking on the unread mail widgets either takes me to the Mail for Exchange account, or to Inbox (which one is inconsistent), but never to the message itself or even the message list. This is true whether I have 0 unread messages, 1 unread message, or multiple unread messages.

Not a huge deal, just an annoyance and a step backward from Modest on the N800.

as long as the topic of modest has surfaced, i'd like to know if there is any way to move a gmail message to gmail's 'archive' folder in modest, rather than opening gmail in a browser window.

I do not have an 'archive' folder in Gmail but you can move to every existing gmail folder (including 'All Mail') by opening the message, clicking on the menu bar and then hitting move. You can then click your account name, and move to any folder either online (under GMail) or offline.

+1 to that, except that for IMAP you need be online.

And if you want to move more messages, go to Inbox (or any folder) and click on menu bar and hit move. Now you may select lots of messages. After finishing, just push button Move and continue as qwazix said.

So one more question. Is there some setting that will allow for offline reading of mail items? Typically most mail clients have something like "download full items" or "download headers only," but I wasn't able to find this in Modest settings and when I tried to open a new email when offline it tried to connect to a network.

I found one other person with this same problem after updating to PR1.2, but I wasn't able to find anyone who had responded to the issue.
