Due to a series of unlucky events I've bricked my N9 and can't use the Flasher tool

To start I switched to a dodgy theme and the phone wouldn't reboot.

Then I decided to reflash the firmware which I've done several times in the past without problems.

For some unknown reason the flashing failed half way through (could have been the PC at fault)

I now believe I could still reflash the phone but the battery level is below 11% so it won't continue.

I've tried leaving the phone charging in the flasher utility but it won't charge due to no firmware.

Catch 22. How do I get the flasher to ignore the battery level or get the phone to charge in order to flash?

Yep but the flasher is saying:
charging battery, 6% battery level (11% required)

Although it says it's charging it's not. If anything the level is going down. So it never starts flashing. Just sits there. Presumeably because it can't. There's a fault in the current firmware due to it not finishing the last flash.

it could be the USB collector's fault on your PC. Leave it at the point where it says charging, there will be no indicator till it reaches 11%. Try not moving it and it should begin in an hour or so.

or you could try connecting to a wall plug for an hour or two before trying to flash.

the n9 is particularly finicky about charging voltage, especially when plugged in a computer.
Btw, what was the dodgy theme?

Try charging the phone with wall plug before you continue?

I've tried charging the phone overnight using the wall charger. It's definitely the lack of firmware that's preventing it from charging. It's very annoying when you know the phone would flash if the battery had some life in it.

Dirtymoon, cant you get another battery that is fully loaded? It will cost some, but at least you can flash the phone afterwards

He obviously is trying to avoid opening the phone. Even if it's easy to do (I just did it today).

Did You try "Death Phone Mode" ? I think, ther is no need for any battery support, as You don't have to establish the connection - sort of way.
