Hello all,

I decided to add a new thread since I know at least one other person is having the same problems.

On my N810:

After installing the latest 50-2 firmware I can't install any 3rd party apps. What happens is it says it's downloading, pauses for about 15secs or so and then says: Download failed. If I look in the log I get that there is a bad cert and the it could not open /media/mmc2/.apt Read-only file system.

Another symptom is I can't not change or turn off my virtual memory.

Another strange aspect to this issue is I can add 1 application without issue if I load it from the Maemo garage, Load-applet, why it loads without error I am not sure.

I opened a ticket with Nokia though they seem as much at a loss as I am.

If anyone else is experiencing this issue, please post your symptoms here, maybe we can all figure out what is going on with out units if we all work together.

Thanks,

You damaged your SD card. Run scandisk on it if you are on a Windows machine... or reformat it after copying your data off of it.

Just to clarify on behalf of Honeybadger - he/she has an N810 and this error is coming up on the internal card and cannot be removed. Switching out the external card isn't going to do a darn thing because that's not where the problem lies.

They also cannot become root because becomeroot wasn't installed prior to the problems. Anybody know the out of the box root password?
