hi,

just thought I'd create a thread for the open source video editor for harmattan - http://robswain.tumblr.com/post/2704...r-the-nokia-n9 - download URL is http://store.ovi.com/content/271924 for the lazy.

thanks to Nokia and Collabora for sponsoring & creating it, respectively.

hope you all enjoy using it, and contributing to it - code is at https://github.com/superdump/Video-Editor

I just got the source and installed debs in Madde as stated in README, but come across this error:

Code:
../Video-Editor/qdeclarativevideoeditor.cpp:84: error: 'ges_timeline_pipeline_preview_set_video_sink' was not declared in this scope
what I missed ?

It seems that those libges deb packages had not been updated with API changes that are part of >= PR1.2 as I recall. I've updated the instructions in the README and put up an updated ges-timeline-pipeline.h and libges-0.10.so.0.0.0 (copied from an N9 running PR1.3) to allow other to build the app.

Post again here if you have any more build problems and I'll get to it when I can.

The goal was to get the foundation of a video editor in place before doing any transitions or so. I have seen an app somewhere that applies effects to videos (perhaps they were captured from the camera, I don't remember now) so it's technically possible to have effects.

I don't have much time to work on the app currently but people are welcome to contribute. If someone remembers what that video effects app was, please link to it here and maybe someone will be interested to figure out a good way to integrate it.
