There's an awful lot of people getting that fail-too-many registration message, I think Whatsapp Inc is making an effort to block unofficial clients.

You won't see any of that in the next update, sorry. The next update will be a decent release for contact synchronization and hopefully open chats persistence.
Remember we don't have a documentation of the Whatsapp protocol. Each feature, even if it's really silly, needs to be hacked and that takes a lot of time... It's not like "oh I run Wireshark and I can see how it's done", specially uploading multimedia pictures to servers, that's like the most secure thing Whatsapp has.

EDIT: Actually I have made some tests myself and I think it's safe to say the Yappari registration is now blocked and no new users might be able to register anymore.
