I preferred the OS 2007 view on the web browser menu, where I could see pretty much my entire list of links and submenus. Now I only see a few at a time. (I tend to be a stylus user rather than a finger user.)

Is there a way to reduce the menu size, or to toggle between the old style and the new style?

- dunno about os2008, but under os2007, installing a small font-based theme offered *lots* of menu items/links!

- perhaps there's an available theme you can install with small fonts?

Does anybody have more info? This is pretty much a showstopper for me moving to OS2008. I moved back to 2007 after seeing the crap menus.

What was wrong with the old way, where it actually detected if you used your finger instead of a stylus, then displayed a finger menu? I'm rather peeved that Nokia actually removed a major and useful feature.

OS2008 cannot detect properly when you touch the screen with your finger. But at least they've should add an option for us to choose what kind of menu style we like...

Wow, so they just plain broke it, then. That's sad.

No, they removed the "feature" because it didn't work: many many users got the wrong style up when they used their thumb.

Agreed, it should be an option - but the touchscreen and/or the software just isn't good enough to reliably distinguish between real-world uses of finger or stylus.

+1 for adding an option. For me this is one of showstoppers (I can quite comfortably use stylus menus with my fingers).

I would like to be able to choose between all *three* modes: stylus, finger and "left thumb" (D-pad).

I never touch the screen with my finger, but I like to switch between the other two modes. The LThumb mode is what I most often want to use, since it only requires one hand, but it is sometimes impossible to proceed without dragging out the stylus (which is another issue I would like to see addressed)
