The board and Elop should be fired before they move on with the windows strategy.

No. That's not the problem. The phones were well received. The problem was that they didn't out a release date and price. The market wanted to hear that the phones would be out soon, and not the last week of December only after the Christmas sales, etc. as is typical to Nokia. The market wanted to hear that the phones would be out by late October, or sooner. I have no idea why Nokia didn't say anything apart from Q4, but I suspect it's because MS didn't allow..

From what I gather, the current downfall is not due to bad reception of the new phones, but the fact that they didn't set a release date. I'm hoping very hard that the rumors are true, and that they'll be available at the end of October. Also hoping that the rumors about iPhone 5 turn out to be true, and that it's just a lame incremental update with no new features to speak of..
some analyse ppl in sweden beleives nokia may have around 5 percent of the market in the longrun... If you thinls thats good its stands for you...

Just yesterday I read about an analyst who said it's almost certain that Nokia stock price will top at least 5€ a piece next year. I also recall reading an analysis that predicted > 20% market share for WP towards the end of 2013. Anyway, I think all analysts are full of **** and just guessing. Some of their guesses may be more educated than others..

They need to stop doing that. Announce, release, ship all with specifics on the spot.
wasnt samsung announce a wp device? Did they give price/avaible time? Just wonder because it seems related to microsoft cant give date to theyr OS even if Eflop said wp was more ready than meego 2011

I think I already pointed it out a couple of times. The specs aren't particularly wow-worthy in mid-2012 anymore and the marketing for them isn't helping now that they're being proven faked.

Seriously? First--you clearly didn't pay attention to the evidence that was being shown in those articles I posted. Second--Nokia already came out to admit they were faked and apologized for them being misleading.

Here.. here's one of the PLETHORA of articles pointing out that they're apologizing, in case it helps:

Go back a page or two and bother to read the posts before you try to play smart with me. You're making yourself look unqualified.

I agree with that, but diversification and actually asking customers what they want in a product they would buy might also be the only proper solution at this point, in my opinion. The Microsoft monoculture that Nokia has set itself upon was never a winning strategy and has proven itself out as a losing strategy even more every day that passes.

Along with the news of faked "sample photos" and "sample videos" marketing, this also makes it smell like vapourware--even if there are prototypes about. I think that might be premature, honestly, but it DOES make it smell a little like it.

And also.. isn't it AWESOME that Microsoft can micro-manage Nokia from afar like that? All the risk, with very little to personally lose should this all fail miserably (as it has so far). Microsoft doesn't have to be the one to report it all to regulators like the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) nor stockholders the way Nokia has to and make it look like a thorough failure on their own shoulders. This gives Microsoft a chance to blame the other guy! Nokia 2012 = Kin 2010

Perhaps--but it hardly matters when the whole company isn't hitched to the Microsoft crazy train.

I doubt there is some company who has such good camera as 920 or 808 in case of light. I would go for one if it run harmattan. For me camera specs is important. There is so many crapmobile cameras. n9 is good but could be better in lowlight/inhouse. I really hope jolla atleast compete with n9 on camera but...

but anyway if someone proves me wrong, give me the company.

however I would not be suprised see samsung next year show similar. Because of the facts that samsung is biggest copycat atm...

and btw about the fake? You people cant be serius if you think any company does NOT fake theyr marketting videos? The only stupidness in this is nokia should just had shutup after it was shown..

Do you think this is fake? One of the best promotions I've seen in a long time.

I'm really tired of stage announcment. I want live life announcment.

They didn't fake the stills, just the video. They specifically stated this. Some website claims that the night-shots were faked because of the way some lights looked. It didn't make any sense to me, and not a single techblog is reporting it, only the part about the video with the reflection of the van.

Note: The Lumia 920 pictures in this post were taken using prototype hardware and software, and then reduced dramatically in size. In addition, the OIS video, above, was not shot using the Lumia 920. We apologise for any confusion on this point.

here's the demo they showed on the keynote, not as spectacular but it compares the s3 and 920
http://youtu.be/6HSbhyaH0vw

the still with the night shot and light flares of the girl with moving traffic are NOT the 920, because flares require smaller aperture, this one
Source:http://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_lumia_...-news-4769.php

but the girl in the park i believe are actual pics of the 920, this one

however here's a demo of the 920, s3, and 4s
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYYr1cG8hEY
NOTE:flash with the 920 was a focusing light not a flash.
source: video itself.

but with anything announce i reserve final judgment till the final product that i can see for myself, especially the ips display. i love amoled and "always on" clock and notifications

till then still wanna look at nexus device and gonna use my n900

cheers!
