Hi everybody,

yesterday my N9 landed on the floor....that hurted so much... :-(
Anyhow, there were any scratches or so, so I was very lucky.

But today in the morning I realized that the phone is only able to "operate" in Landscape mode. Main menu as well as settings and so on are still shown in portrait mode, but all the apps (the ones that support landscape mode, are shown in landscape mode). Also when I am in the Settings Menu (shown in Portrait mode), the swype movements I have to do to operate, are the ones as if it was in landscape menu. The menu closes swiping from right to left. If I swipe up-down it just goes to t he background.

I cleared the device (factory reset) and it stayed the same. Then I flahed the devices (my first time ) and the same happened. Actually during the flashing, the blue progress bar, was also shown in landscape mode (is that usual?).

Well.....I think that due to the "landing" of my phone, the orientation sensor has broken.

Any idea about that? Or my N9's destiny is to travel to Nokia Care?

Thanks for your help!

I'm sorry but it sounds like a HW problem. Nokia Care is the only option i guess

I can only answer on the blue status-bar during the flashing-process, as I just flashed my N9 for the first time just last night - and mine was in landscape as well, lying flat on its back on the table.

Good news here, after shaking my precious N9 REAL hard in portrait mode, automatic screen orientation is working like a charm again!
