So basically i try to log into my n900
Code:
user@host$ ssh root@192.168.2.105
root@192.168.2.105's password:
and enter my password, and everything works fine.
but only the first 8 charaters are evaluated and i dont think this is intended.

so, before i file a Bug against either openssh or the underlying libaries: is there a way to pinpoint the problem?

i think i've answered my own question:
# passwd
Changing password for root
Enter the new password (minimum of 5, maximum of 8 characters)
but, the question is: why?
