Nelisquare is a client for N9 / N900 for Foursquare social network.

  Alpha is a buggy bugs for hardcore testers, it updates after I change at least one code line. If something completely breaks, it should be fixed here in and hour or so.
  Dont install Alpha if you are not ready for manual reinstall/downgrade to stable or beta versions.

Installation process

Preffered way
The most efficient way is to click on an appropriate link above for desired version.

Repositories
For Maemo 5 users neliquare is available via devel-testing or devel-extras. I promote stable versions from devel to testing if there is no repoted bugs in a few days.

My build server
Also, all versions are available at my build server: http://thecust.net/nelisquare/ :

Autoupdate system
Starting from version 0.4.3 Nelisquare have internal auto-update system.

By default all new users are switched to "stable" version check.
You can select any desired type of update notifications at options screen, (pic 1)

On application startup, or when changing desired update type at settings, nelisquare checks the latest build available at my build server.
If new build is available updater shows you an popup which describes the update: type, version, build number and changelog if available (pic 2).

After pushing the "Update" button, new version will be downloaded, and you have to tap to install it.

Known bugs

• top right corner of n900 app force-hides the application instead of opening notifications

Q&A section:

• Q: My GPS lock time is huge, what should i do?
  A: You should try to change your A-GPS supplicant server settings.
  I recommend to set it to "supl.google.com".
  N9 users: read this howto or follow that instruction
  N900 users: enable "Network positioning" at Location settings and setup server name

• Q: How I can report a bug?
  A: Simpliest way is to tweet @basil_s. The other - write all the info about your bug here.
  First of all, check if you are using latest stable version. If you encounter a bug, please check latest beta change log, may be I have already fixed that bug, so beta is bug free and stable update will be released soon.
  If you are using beta version, check that your build is up-to-date: restart nelisquare and check if there any update popup, or goto settings page and at 'Check for updates' section tap for your version type.

• Q: I'm using N900, and after update I see a black screen?
  A: Make sure you are using v >= 0.4.8 or build >= 201211122100
  Starting from v0.4.8 nelisquare switched to QtMobility 1.2 for both, N9 and N900 (maemo/meego) platforms. Since there is no official libqtm-12 release available for fremantle, only community builds are available, fremantle can preload wrong library version during nelisquare startup.

• Q: N900 - can't update to new verions: "qt-components-10-com.meego-compat" is missing!
  A: Starting from v0.4.9 nelisquare requires N900 CSSU to be installed.
  Also if you are installing custom deb file (not from extras repositories), you have to install missing dependencies manually.
  This post shows how to do it with just one click!

• Q: Nelisquare does not have translation to my native language!
  A: New translations can be added to nelisquare as soon as all resources will be translated. Check
  translations page if you language available or in-progress. If it does not listed there, you can request translation, and tranlate nelisquare by yourself!

How to make cool photos at Nelisquare

• MOLO.ME integration is supported.
  If you have molo.me application installed, nelisquare for N9 can integrate with it to acquire cool photos with one click.

What an amazing job you are doing here!
I have used 4squick as well as stock 4s app, but Nelisquare is easily the best already, by far, and its also faster than apps from other platforms

The development speed is also incredible. Using dev builds, I am updating at least twice a day . Its great to see this app evolving and getting even better and better!

While the (planned) feature list is already impressive I wanted to ask for/suggest some things to add:

1) In venue view:
- Number of checkins of Mayor
- Number of my checkins
- Total people here
- Total checkins
- See who is currently there

2) Swipe left/right through venue photos

3) Full screen map with option to show venues (by category?) nearby

4) Dark theme (looks simply awesome on N9 and saves battery )

5) Statistics as shown on 4s website?

6) Molo.me integration
- Option to use photos from gallery
- Yes, sharing options to other services are always welcome

7) Change avatar and see big version of others avatar

Only friends (as users with links to profiles) can be displayed.

I assumed, that if you already have photo at gallery, you have processed it already. All processed photos are shown at gallery view while selecting photo. I thought that molo will be used for creating new photos.

I'll put other suggestions on the list.

Yes, there is quidelines with 4SQ app and also colors so we made new Nelisquare with these quidelines. :-)

This warm colored style is also nicer and looks awsome.

Today beta update v.0.4.6 build >= 201211020110:

• image loading settings (load all, or only cached graphics)
  useful if you are on roaming with your internet provider.
• progress bar added while loading full-sized photos.
• gps unlock timeout added (check settings page).
  gps will unlock after application goes background for the specified amount of time.
• feed autoupdate integrated.
  you will recieve all new friend checkins with that period of time.

On the one hand currently there is no control for feed length, so application (if you run it for whole day long) can become quite laggy, in that case just reload it.
On the other — now, if application runs at background, you get all checkins of your friends, so none of them are lost!
Feed update does work while app is at background.

very nice app, i find it better than other clients
some suggestions/requests:
1) it'd be nice if you have icons for "back", "me", "feed", "places" and "lists" rather than words. It'd look nice

2) a dark theme because dark is always sexy on N9
