Hello,

I come looking for some advice with what to do next on a problem I have.

Over the last few weeks I have had not been having intermittent problems connecting to my 3g T-Mobile Orange internet connection with the n9. This has periods that have lasted up to 4 days at a time. WiFi and gprs works fine.

Now to add a little backstory to this, T-Mobile and Orange in the UK have recently partnered together and T-mobile have been "upgrading" their Cell Towers to allow for greater coverage across the country by piggy backing the Orange network.

So without fully realising this, I did start to notice that when visiting my friends house, my connection returned when within the T-Mobile ONLY cell range and upon returning to my home, it remained connected to the T-Mo signal. This would work fine for days at a time until the signal switched back to T-Mobile Orange network again and my internet is lost again.

With this in mind I started searching the T-Mobile customer support forum and came up with zilch (ok there was a number of users 18month ago having the same issue and decided to make an online petition about it, so zilch).

Next I decided to call the customer support center directly who decided that they would reset my data connection and asked me to reboot. Since then I have not been able to get ANY 3g data connection on either T-mobile or T-Mobile Orange connection, even with me going to another city where my friend lives.

Never having any other provider issues before (15 years with T-mobile /one2one) I am unsure how to follow this up? Has anyone had a similar experience or can offer advice?

Thanks

/MINKIN

Edit: I have now manually edited the APN settings on the phone so it should now only connect to T-Mobile and not try to automatically select between the two connections.

I've just fixed a similar issue with mine by manually entering the new apn name everywhere

The username and password are left blank.

This is, of course, related to the new Everything Everywhere rebrand that Orange and T-mobile have undergone in the UK.

You could allso be editing mobile data connection and entering the web-address of that network prowider like www.orange3g.com or orange3G.com if no need for name and pasword then enter "none" and pw "none" or just leave it blank...than you might see on your phone title bar the name of network.
This example i did with nitdroid to and worked instantly.
