I'm facing a strange issue with my phone lately. It happens usually when i try to connect my phone to my laptop and use the PC suit mode to connection to my phones GPRS on my laptop.

Here's the list of issues i've noticed that happen:

1) 2G/3G network Disconnects for 10 seconds - Happens on unplugging the USB cable from either the laptop or the mobile.[Shows No SIM symbol]. Reconnects to network again in few seconds.

2) On using the GPRS for more than 10 minutes - 2G/3G network disconnects. [Shows no SIM symbol]. Reconnects to network in few seconds.

3) Happens when i'm charging the phone and using GPRS. Charging either through Laptop or Wall charger.

4) Network Disconnects faster on 3G - No SIM symbol pops up and later after few seconds shows the network again.

5) Sometimes rebooting the device fixes it, but it starts again after using the GPRS for few minutes.

6) When my phone's charging via laptop USB cable, and if i receive a message or call. Network goes away. The Calls cuts and Messages show for a second and disappear, its no longer even shown in message app. I have to reboot the phone to fix this.


I haven't reflashed and its really very annoying as i can't even get to browse a webpage before the Newtwork disconnects and so does the GPRS because of it.

Apps I use that depend on displaying network or turning stuff off:

1) 3G/2G/Dual mode Selection applet.
2) Advanced Interface switcher.

I dont know if this has something to do with the amount of power coming from the USB cable and the Network hardware. Please help me solve this.

I have something similar, but haven't noticed a relation to the USB cable...

What I see is that since a few weeks my n900 just drops off the 2G/3G network, sometimes I even see it drop all GSM connectivity. Sometimes it looks like it has an IP adres but isn't connected, sometimes it has disconnected but the when I go into the menu it says connected.

Weird stuff.
