How about this interesting article (and beautiful pictures of a cyan N9):

Just got a secondhand (but quite mint in condition) 64GB black N9 2 days ago for cheap.

I have to say, for a guy who isn't into apps that much, it pretty much does everything I need. I have only a gripe with the music player (needs to update library every time it is closed), since I'm a music junkie. Other than that, it works for me. I usually use it to browse the web (using stock browser), music, text, call, and the casual photos.

Keeping it stock and see if I can live with it. I don't even see myself tinkering with it too much, and it's better that the option of tinkering it is there.

P.S. I don't even see myself tinkering with it just so to get a better experience. I'm pretty much happy with it right now, given the bugs. (An update would help, though)

n0x,

The music player thing should not be happening that way unless you have been adding/removing media between the times you open it.

Since you got it secondhand did you do a full flash i.e. rootfs+emmc?

Also you may want to take out all your media from device, reboot then add it back. Give it ~15mins if you have a lot of media to re-index and it shouldn't be showing that updating library message unnecessarily again...

QuasarMX is also a good music player alternative

I have searched a bit. It's just a gripe or me for it to always update every time I open the music player, it has to update (even when I didn't put any new stuff in). Tracker-control shows no errors too. It's just the 30GB+ music I have.

I would probably reflash this thing if I have the time. And/or remove most of the music I don't listen to.

P.S. Just tried updating the library and timing it: Took me exactly 15 minutes 30 seconds

I also have this feeling. When I find myself moving in another phone I feel completely lost. I wonder when that no longer exists N9 will have to switch to a system with Swype. Thank god that the sailfish's coming, not with the same experience of harmattan but it's a start.

Well, I didn't need anyone to convince me for buying my N9 when I was tempted. In fact, I had to convince the store owner to let me buy the N9. The owner was 100% against the fact of me wanting to buy the N9 because he claimed that it's a worthless device, and pretty useless. I persisted on buying it, I told him I will buy it no matter what. He told me that he is pretty sure that I will come back after 2 days to return it. I came back after 1 month, he told me " Ready to return it?", well, in fact, I told him I was ready to keep it, I showed him my N9 running NITDroid and made him completely shut up.
The Nokia N9 is an extremely amazing device that you can get used to, and never leave. The Nokia N9 also has an alpha Android Compatibility Layer called "Apkenv" by thp. Regardless of NITDroid. And NOTHING is impossible on this phone, nothing. The community is pretty awesome too..
