I apologize for being OT here but as long as we're on the connection subject: does anyone know how to disable the cellular connection alltogether (phone+internet) while leaving wifi enabled? I used to do this from the terminal on the N900...

Probably you'd need to go offline, as given in profilematic tricks. Without disconnecting wifi.
Or still, convert ur mobile data access point to manual connect, then u can open the connection prompt, select wifi point, and it'd itself disconnect data and switch to wifi. Not an automatic fancy process though..

using the same mcetool in the first page you can disable cellular radio which would leave internet connection i.e. wlan on...

Sorry if this is not the right thread, but can mcetools be installed without inception? When I try to install from apt-get, I get what look like aegis errors, and mcetool doesn't appear to turn off my internet connection (at least when using profilmatic)

bp0,

No it can't; there is a reason it was mentioned to use inception for normal mode users and fixed origin for openmode users...

Simply purge your mcetool and apt-get install -d mcetools then incept in from /var/cache/apt/archives/

Is there a way to disconnect mobile internet only (without affecting the phone function) or to disconnect internet alltogether (again, without affecting phone function)?

Code:
dbus-send --system --dest=com.nokia.icd /com/nokia/icd_ui com.nokia.icd_ui.disconnect boolean:true | echo ""
This used to work on the N900 but on the N9 it'll disconnect and immediately reconnect...

solbrit,

Code:
mcetool --disable-radio=wlan
The above switches off the internet connection for the device...

Only wifi though, I assume. And that can be done by bringing down the wlan interface through ifconfig as well. But what I'm most interested in is disconnecting the mobile internet connection without loosing the phone function....

Nope, it should switch off the internet connection even if its connected via mobile data without switching off the phone function...
