Ok, so call me an idiot. Was sitting in a airport yesterday messing around with KDE on my tablet, and I decided to set autohide on the kicker panel.. Now I can't figure out how to unhide it so that I can actually do some things????? Is there a keystroke or some backdoor way to unhide it, or do I just need to re-install??

Thanks

Have you tried reconfiguring Panels? Go to Control Center->Desktop->Panels -> here you change it to "only hide when panel button is clicked" or "Allow other windows to cover the panel" (FWIW - that's what I have it set to). You can also select which side to show the panel hiding buttons.

Doh! Ok, try "dcop kicker kicker restart" on a command line. Sorry I forgot about needing KMenu which is in the Panel to get to Control Center (I've got buttons mapped to bring up KMenu as well as docking it in the Panel). If you can't get to xterm in KDE because it's also hiden, you should be able to do this in Maemo xterm as well.

After you've got it back I would suggest using Control Center (as above) to change your settings. I've done a quick Google search and this disappearing Kicker (aka Panel) appears to be a bug in KDE.

Thanks, that worked!! Gotta be quick as it wants to re-hide everytime, but I was able to get it and unset autohide.

Thanks!!!
