I will choose only one person based off of experience with other successful apps, but if it becomes a collaborative effort, then I will figure out how to divide the appropriate funds.

I am looking for an add on option to the default music player that allows a spectrum analyzer to be displayed when music is playing. Would activate a new screen on a black background and would allow the Standby screen to be disabled while in use. A broad range of frequencies would be nice, a decent frame rate, and a few different types of anaylzers would be a nice additive. Thanks to all who may be interested

Adding this to native Music player is probably not going to work.
A standalone app probably will.
Not sure how to approach.

I started writing a music visualisation app a while back which worked by using the output of a pulseaudio monitor, so it could visualise the audio from any application. It worked pretty well with the monitor for the speaker output but there seems to be a bug in the audio stack which results in the output from the headphone monitor having incorrect timestamping (at least when read through the GStreamer pulsesrc element) that then causes synchronisation problems for the visualisation elements, which is why I eventually abandoned it.

I'll upload the source when I get home, as it might still be a good starting point for anyone wanting to tackle this project.

Is there a way to insert an option in the default player to display the analyzer, but it activates the "standalone app"?

I think made a equalizer is most interisting the other ideas y so a stupid thing for kill the charge of the battery... But the all ideas to actually the media player are welcome

As I mentioned earlier it only works with speaker output due to bugs in the headphone monitor's time-stamping, and it's very much just an initial work in progress. When I ran in to the bug with headphone support I decided to just shelve it and wait for the Jolla phone before doing any more with it, but it might still help anyone wanting to take this on.
