I have a bunch of USB flash sticks and trying 'em out with usbmode, I noticed that some of the possible error messages given out by usbmode via the yellow noti banners overlap and disappear way too quickly to read.

I installed USB Mode and it works fine, only thing I noticed is in file manager the root name became "BCM204880 Initialization Configuration" instead of "Nokia N900"...

Is it a known issue?

Yes, and it's unrelated to USB hostmode. Just get into settings, bluetooth, and change your device "name" there, to get normal one back.

update kernel-power and usbmode to last version from extras-devel and make sure that charger is not attached.
