My first N900 (bought in 2009 at the Nokia store, NYC) has just lost its telephony functions.

Time to power up one of my spares.

(What a lot of re-installing and updating I'm going to have to do).

Cloning with BackupMenu may not always work. The only safe method is reflash, reinstall (and/or remove) packages, copy (relevant parts of) /home/user.

For some unknown reasons, i found CSSU (also Thumb2) a bit slow than the stock OS. I know that CSSU brings some security updates but I prefered going back to stock. Anyway, I just use the N900 sometimes, depending on my mood basically for sms and calls, and sometimes to test softs here on TMO.

Do you have some hard values to back up your statement? As so far you're the only one (afaik) to say cssu-thumb is slower than stock, maybe your usage-pattern uncovers some bug or another problem. I'd really appreciate if you elaborate on that "slowness".
