I find there is usually one window which is the cause but haven't worked out the definitive cause yet.
5 tabs open, freezes, browserd up to 90%, subsequent incrementally lower spikes with each tab closure...

doesn't sound quite the same, i usually have one rogue tab.

I do: one tab only, google mobile for iphone. ~25% ram. and lags. Maybe a little less with kp 51r1 but still. Will test a little more soon.

Downgrading gtk to cssu1 (non thumb decreased browserd ram usage and with light pages no hangs)

Found the problem of hangs: it was adblock plus....
