Bad news, sailors, my N9 doesn't work well - it seems that battery died, so development is paused until I get new battery.

In the /usr/share/themes/sailfish/meegotouch/libmeegotouchviews/style/mbannerstyle.css file there is twice margin entry:

I don't even know the dev but still I'm quite confident that Ancelad will keep us posted when there's any news on the new version of the theme.
